We've provided used and out-of-print books to western Ohio readers and collectors since 1980 through our retail store, in Sidney 1980-90, and in our present location since 1990. We have been an active online bookseller since 1997, when we were among the first generation of Bibliofind (now Amazon Marketplace) and ABE vendors. We work hard to offer a variety of interesting books, priced competitively, honestly graded and described.
Our 3,000+ square feet shop is located in the heart of the Old Tipp City Historic District, amid more than 50 antique and arts shops. We're open 11AM-5PM Tuesday through Friday and 11AM-4PM Saturday. We're a two-minute drive from I-75, about 15 minutes north of Dayton. Our current inventory consists of approximately 150,000 books, of which approximately a third appear on our online listings.
We maintain a general stock but have strength in a number of areas. For example, titles in stock and offered online: 2188 cookbooks, 885 Civil War, 1757 World War II, 1577 Men’s Adventure novels, 2,342 mysteries, 2,579 romances, 6240 Science Fiction & Fantasy, 1,552 Westerns, 868 Military History, 1478 U.S. History, 1392 Paranormal, 761 Aviation, 1860 Biography, and more than 1000 author-signed books. These are minimum numbers, since so many of our books have not yet been offered online.
A word about descriptions...we attempt to grade and describe books as accurately as possible, so that our customers will know exactly what they are buying, whether online or in the store. We've been too often disappointed ourselves as Internet buyers - the "first edition" that was actually a book club, the "Fine" set that would have been Good to Very Good, without the unmentioned water stains, the scanned "almost mint" item with the beverage ring on the back cover, and so on, ad nauseum - we all have our horror stories. We work very hard to describe our books honestly and to price them competitively.
